Eplan Next26: Bringing the Global Engineering Community Together

Author: John Boynton Time to read: minute minutes

What do engineering professionals, decision-makers, horses, and a global festival have in common? They all come together at Eplan Next26. This flagship event in May will unite people, ideas, and industry topics in one unique setting. Jan Fleming, Eplan Vice President Customer Journey, talks about the background of the event.

Eplan Next26 is an event of unprecedented scale for us. Why are we doing this, and why now?

Eplan sees itself and its electrical design software as the connecting link between key players in the industry: component manufacturers, machine builders, operators, and many more. This is a broad ecosystem, and we want to bring these stakeholders together in one physical space. This idea is what led to the creation of Eplan Next.

Since our customers and partners are always our central focus, we want to give them a place where they can share their topics, exchange ideas, and engage in meaningful dialogue. The response so far shows that we are on the right track, and we are pleased to welcome high-profile participants such as representatives from DMG Mori, Eaton China, and Siemens.

So, why now? Well, ten years ago, an event of this scale would not have been possible for Eplan. But today, we have a much stronger presence. At trade fairs, for example, we appear together with major companies such as Siemens and Microsoft. As a result, we now feel ready to host a festival like Eplan Next26.  After all, every major software company has its own event, and so it is natural for us to also have our own flagship event.

What feedback are you receiving from customers?

The feedback has been extremely positive. Many customers we approached at last year’s SPS trade fair confirmed their participation immediately. We understand that travel may be a challenge for some, but we still expect many users and decision-makers to join us in Munich. So far, we already have more than 1,500 registrations.
"What started as an idea has grown into a global major event thanks to the incredible support and trust of our partners and customers", says Jan Fleming.

What can participants look forward to at the Eplan Next26?

We have created a programme that offers something for every target group. From a user perspective, the Master Classes and the Future Lab will be particularly exciting. Both offer the chance to try out new solutions live. We are also launching Eplan Copilot and Eplan Smart Sourcing at the event, and participants can again test both on-site.

The main stage will feature high-level speakers. On the partner stage, joint use cases will be presented. Industry dialogues with our Vertical Market Managers will also be part of the programme. Networking is an important focus for us, and we will offer many opportunities for conversation, including a beer garden where participants can meet and exchange ideas informally.

Visitors will gain insight into industry benchmarks and explore the future direction of their own organisation.

One last question: what is your personal highlight?

First of all, Eplan Next26 is an extraordinary project for me. It is the first event of this size that I have had the privilege to design and lead for Eplan, and I couldn't be prouder of the result.

My personal highlight is the main stage programme. With Dr. Masahiko Mori from DMG Mori and Rainer Brehm from Siemens, we have secured two leading figures from the very top of our industry. I am also delighted that our owner, Dr. Friedhelm Loh, will join us in person - a strong sign of how important this event is.

The location is another special element. Cavalluna Park in Munich, which usually hosts the Apassionata horse shows, provides a unique setting. It differs strongly from typical exhibition halls and convention centres, and it will give the event a distinctive atmosphere. There are many strong reasons to join us in Munich.

This sounds exciting, doesn't it? Don't miss out on the premiere of our event. Register now and we'll meet on May 20 and 21 in Munich! (click the image below)
