Compared with its European counterparts, the UK still has a low uptake of automation technologies. In a report published by the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee (BEIS), the UK remains significantly behind other manufacturing powers when it comes to robot density and automation. But what about the future – what steps are needed to make up the lost ground? How can we best tap into new trends and manufacturing innovations to establish ourselves as proponents of Industry 4.0?
