Barry Chatham Barry Chatham Barry is a Business Consultant for EPLAN UK, working closely with the commercial team and a facilitator to the technical team in ensuring that EPLAN are delivering the right value at the right time to our customers. Having graduated as an Industrial Designer and being deeply immersed in a wide range of disciplines, the learning curve in each of Barry's roles has been vast. This brings with it a wealth of experience, something demonstrable from recent years in CAD software such as Siemens PLM and more recently SolidWorks, where starting in technical and moving into commercial roles, Barry has successfully assisted hundreds of companies through transitional change and added value not only to his customers but heavily focusing on their customers and delivering results in dozens of different industries. Having been asked the question years ago at an interview, it changed his outlook and discussions on the manufacturing industry, the question was "I make scissors in Sheffield as a consultant, I want you to make me more money"... This question, and the "so what" methodology enabled Barry to see from a different perspective, something which is proving to be very well received with some of our customers already.

Our customers are important to us, so we now have a Customer Success Manager who will ultimately assist our customers to drive efficiency through their use of EPLAN.

Customer Centric

Empowering others is important to us at EPLAN, because we want to enable our customers to achieve great things and become the leaders in their fields of expertise. We want to inspire our customers to achieve greater levels of efficiency through firstly automating their electrical design process and later their entire business process. Therefore, our customers are at the centre of all we do. That's why we have introduced a new role at EPLAN UK, the Customers Success Manager. Chris Louch has this new role and will be working alongside our customers to highlight some of the ways that the EPLAN software and services can add value to the way they work.

How will the Customer Success Manager benefit our customers? 

The idea of the new role is for Chris to hold regular account reviews with customers to find out how they are getting on with using the software and to see where we can support them further. We have discovered that a lot of our customers are using EPLAN in the same was as they use a CAD tool, rather than as the CAE tool that it is. Therefore, many customers are not reaping the benefits of their investment in the software. Something has to be done about this! 

The first phase is to ensure that EPLAN has been set up correctly and is being used correctly in your business. After purchasing EPLAN, our customers have the tools to save huge amounts of time in the design process, however, some customers are using EPLAN in an inefficient way or haven't even started using it after purchasing it. We want this to change! We want to ensure that our customers are where they should be and are fully equipped to be successful and grow as a business. 

The second phase is a value process audit, where we assess the entire business to see where EPLAN can add value across the entire business and map the journey to success. We will also be holding Efficiency Days in different locations across the country where our customers can learn about new features in the latest version of EPLAN, tips & tricks, and much more, whilst networking with other EPLAN customers.
