Having used traditional CAD tools for many years for electrical engineering design projects, any design engineer will tell you that such tools are an integral part of their role. While this rings true, traditional CAD tools were originally developed for mechanical design purposes; and are now starting to show their age and inability to automate simple tasks which are necessary for today’s requirements in electrical engineering.
