Wire or cable harnesses (also known as wiring or cable assemblies) are a way of organising wires between components in an electrical system. They are commonly used in server arrays and other computer or AV equipment, as well as HVAC systems,...
Large mechatronic systems such as vehicles, aircraft, production equipment, robotics and power systems rely on complex wire harnesses to integrate their various functions. As systems become larger and more complex with the ever-increasing electrical content, harness design becomes more difficult and error prone. However, despite increasing challenges, engineering schedules remain largely unchanged and inappropriate tools are still used.
